In a bold move, a young couple erected this hip hotel/bar/restaurant - in the heart of what was then the red-light district of the low-rent Constitución neighborhood. Since, city ordnances have moved most of the streetwalkers out of the area, but the business, albeit in its new incarnation, stayed. The bar and restaurant downstairs is a minimalist affair patterned after a ‘butcher shop in Berlin’. Solid bartenders use a large selection of booze and their imaginations to make creative cocktails and upstairs there are five rooms with a lovingly designed. There is a mini-pool and host of events including art openings, DJs, VJs and any other event deemed hip enough to enter into Boquitas´ colourful interior.

el 21/02/200, dios mediante, abrimos en buenos aires el primer pop hotel y restaurante: boquitas pintadas, sus fundadores oriundos de colonia y berlin (alemania) trataron de aunar en este edificio principios estilísticos y estéticos muy cuidados y definidos: arte del confort con la dinámica de los excesos, sin caer en la dureza /narcótica de las secuencias mentales, desde la selección de mobiliarios, hasta la participación de artistas, jóvenes y reconocidos que expusieron y ambientaron sus habitaciones. al mismo tiempo las obras de los artistas fueron expuestas para su venta. en una especie de market-art o despensa de arte. el hotel contaba con un bar, un restaurante, un club privadísimo en su sótano, y un jardín hawaiano enano con piscina oriental.
